Terms of Service
By accessing or using SilentPost (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
SilentPost is a secure message vault that stores encrypted content and delivers it to designated recipients when a user-defined check-in trigger is missed. The Service operates automatically and does not involve human review of your content.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.
3. Your Account
A valid email address is required to create an account. We use it to deliver login codes, check-in reminders, and delivery confirmations. Beyond that email, and any information you choose to enter (recipient addresses, trusted contact details, message content), we do not require personal information from you.
You are responsible for maintaining access to your login email. If you lose access to it, SilentPost cannot recover your account or its content on your behalf.
You may not share, sell, or transfer your account to another person.
You may delete your account at any time from the settings page in the application. Account deletion is immediate and irreversible: all messages, uploaded files, device registrations, and account metadata are permanently removed from our systems.
4. Acceptable Use
You may use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may not use SilentPost to:
- Store or transmit content that is illegal under applicable law
- Harass, threaten, or harm any recipient
- Distribute malware, spam, or unauthorized solicitations
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or exploit the Service
- Violate the rights of any third party, including intellectual property rights
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
5. Content
You retain all rights to the content you store. By using the Service, you grant SilentPost a limited license to store and deliver your content solely as necessary to provide the Service.
Message content and attachments are encrypted at rest using a unique per-message key, wrapped by AWS Key Management Service. Only the delivery process is authorized to unwrap that key, and only when a delivery trigger has fired. SilentPost does not read, analyze, or sell your content.
Once a message is delivered, the recipient's link remains valid for twenty-four (24) hours to allow for repeated access or recovery from a failed open. After that window, the message's encrypted content and any attachments are permanently purged from our systems.
6. Delivery Triggers
Delivery occurs automatically when you miss your check-in schedule and the grace period you configured has elapsed. During both the lead-up to your check-in and the grace period, SilentPost sends reminder notifications to your login email and, if installed, the SilentPost mobile app. These reminders are provided as a courtesy and are not a substitute for active check-ins.
SilentPost is not responsible for unintended deliveries caused by missed check-ins, ignored reminders, or interruptions in your email or push notification channels. It is your responsibility to maintain your check-in schedule or delete messages you no longer wish to send.
7. Payment & Subscriptions
Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. Lifetime plans are a one-time charge. All payments are final and non-refundable except where required by law.
We accept credit and debit cards (processed by Stripe) and USDC on the Solana blockchain. Card transactions are subject to Stripe's terms and privacy policy. Blockchain transactions are public and non-reversible by design; any details recorded on-chain cannot be erased by SilentPost.
If your subscription lapses, your content remains in your vault for thirty (30) days. After that, it may be permanently deleted. You may delete your account and its content at any time from your settings.
8. Service Availability
SilentPost is designed to operate with minimal infrastructure and no human dependencies. We aim for continuous availability, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We will provide reasonable advance notice of any planned discontinuation of the Service.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. SilentPost does not warrant that the Service will be error-free or that content will be delivered in every circumstance.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SilentPost shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data or failure to deliver content, arising from your use of the Service.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which SilentPost is incorporated, without regard to conflict of law principles.
