Common questions.
If you miss your check-in reminder and the subsequent grace period you set, SilentPost sends each recipient their secure access link. The grace period gives you extra time in case you're traveling or temporarily unreachable.
Yes. Until delivery begins, you're in full control. Check in any time to reset your timer, change your check-in or grace interval, or delete messages you no longer want sent. You can also delete your entire account — this wipes every message and file immediately.
Text messages, images, video files, and documents. Each message can include multiple attachments. Every plan includes 5 GB of encrypted storage shared across all your messages.
Every message and attachment is encrypted at rest with a unique per-message key, wrapped by AWS Key Management Service. Only the automated delivery process has permission to unwrap that key, and only once your delivery trigger has fired — our application servers don't hold standing permission to decrypt your content. After delivery, the encrypted content and its key are permanently purged from our systems within 24 hours.
As little as we can manage. We need a working email to sign you in and reach you with reminders, plus the email addresses of the people you want us to deliver to. Payment is crypto-only, so there's no name, card, or billing address attached to your account. The web app uses basic in-house analytics that record actions — like "a draft was saved" or "a check-in completed" — to make sure things work; they don't track users or build a profile. Our mobile apps ask for one permission, push notifications, and only use it to send you reminders.
Each delivery link opens once and stays valid for 24 hours — enough time that a missed notification or shaky connection won't cost them the message. While it's open, recipients can read everything and save copies of any files you've sent. After the window closes, the link expires and the content is permanently removed from our systems. SilentPost delivers in one direction; any conversation that follows belongs to the people you chose, not to us.
